Bharat-VISTAAR is India's national agricultural digital public infrastructure (Agri DPI), built by Kenpath in partnership with IIIT Bangalore and the EkStep Foundation for the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Govt. of India. Launched by the Union Agriculture Minister in Jaipur and announced in Union Budget 2026-27 with a Rs 150 crore allocation, the platform delivers real-time crop intelligence, weather, mandi prices, scheme information and grievance redressal to 120 million farming households across India in 20+ languages.

A federated national backbone built for decades of scale
Bharat-VISTAAR is architected as a federated digital public infrastructure connecting the central Ministry of Agriculture with all state agricultural systems. Built on the Vistaar Protocol and India's National Agri Stack, each state plugs into a common backbone while retaining autonomy over local data, language and advisory content. Foundational AI models fine-tuned on Indian agricultural data power the intelligence layer, with interoperability across AgriStack, state portals, Amul AI and MahaVISTAAR.

Kenpath's role
Kenpath partnered with IIIT Bangalore and the EkStep Foundation to build Bharat-VISTAAR as India's national Agri AI DPI for the Ministry of Agriculture. Kenpath designed the federated architecture, built the foundational Agri AI models, developed the voice-first AI assistant 'Bharati', and integrated the platform with AgriStack and state-level systems. The team worked directly with ministry officials and ecosystem partners to ensure the platform is scalable, trustworthy and ready to serve 120 million farmers.
