A Method to Scale-Up Interpretative Qualitative Analysis

Economists predominantly examine quantitative data obtained through structured surveys due to their efficiency with large samples and compatibility with standard econometric methods. However, some economic inquiries, such as well-being, cultural change, and aspirations, benefit from open-ended qualitative interviews, rather than fixed questionnaires, as they involve nuanced understanding not predetermined by researchers.

Notably, our data scientist Aditya Chhabra, in collaboration with industry experts and researchers, has authored this paper on the subject.
