Build products end to end at Kenpath: PostgreSQL and APIs, React front ends, and the AI features that sit on top of them.
You will work across government, social-sector and SaaS products where cost, latency and security matter from day one.
Job ID: KP-BOM-FSE-2026-003 · Reports to: Tech Lead (Engineering & AI)
Location & work mode
This role is based in Mumbai and works on-site. We care about focused time and short feedback loops, which is easier in a room together while the team is this size.
What you will do
- Build backend services in TypeScript (NestJS) and Python (FastAPI) on PostgreSQL, and front ends in React and Next.js.
- Integrate LLM features into products with tool calling and structured outputs, working with the AI engineers on the team.
- Design clean APIs and data models, and write tests that keep them honest.
- Deploy on Cloud with CI/CD and infrastructure as code, and debug issues across database, API and deployment.
- Own modules from discovery to release, with clean, tested, documented code.
What you bring
- 3 to 5 years of software engineering, building and shipping full stack web applications.
- Strong TypeScript, Node.js and Python, including async programming and API design.
- PostgreSQL: schema design, indexing and query tuning.
- Hands-on React and Next.js, and working knowledge of AWS, Docker and Git-based workflows.
- Secure API practice: OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, JWT and role-based access.
- An evidence-driven approach and clear written communication.
Technology stack
Depth is expected in the core stack for the role. Familiarity with the rest is welcome; it is not a screening filter.
- Languages: TypeScript, Node.js (current LTS), Python 3.12 or later
- Backend and frontend: NestJS, FastAPI, React, Next.js
- Data: PostgreSQL, Redis
- AI and LLM: Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini APIs
- Cloud and DevOps: AWS / GCP / Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, OpenTelemetry
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience shipping LLM features (RAG, agents or evaluations) to production.
